What did you think of the Ortiz jersey in the new Yankee Stadium? I was surprised that the Yankees had become so afraid of the Red Sox that they’d go to all that trouble to avoid a ‘curse.’ The only curse seemed to be on Ortiz, not the Yankees.
Monday night I accidentally got to talk to the owner of the Dodgers. What would you say if you talked to the Steinbrenners?
Ortiz jersey
Hi
I think the whole Ortiz shirt thing was sensible to avoid it coming back to bite them in years to come. After all there never was a curse of the Bambino but the Sox and their fans had to live with it ringing in their ears for the better part of a century. The guy who placed it there would have had a better story if he’d had the good sense to wait before announcing it to the world. I guess this way he just loses his job.
Interesting to see the Tigers have just about the worst record in the AL but it is early days. Shows how difficult it is to work these things out on paper.
Totally unrelated, did you catch my reference to Muggeridge in my literature entry a few days ago. A reader mentioned you had a picture of him on your journal.
