Yankees in April – Update 3
I’m not really planning on daily updates in this column but the Yankees are going through quite a few changes at the moment.
Yankees in April – Update 2
I’m writing this on Wednesday morning, April 8th, as the Yankees have just taken possession of the lead in the American League East, for the first time this season, following their win in their home opener against the Baltimore Orioles.
Yankees In April – Update 1
There are 3 changes to jersey numbers on the major league squad from those that were worn in Spring Training. The other numbers can be seen on the March updates.
The Yankees in March – Part Three
It’s funny how things work out. The last day of Yankees’ Spring Training schedule – a game against the Miami Marlins – was rained out.
The Yankees in March – Part Two
(up to and including March 29)
During Spring Training, the Yankees pitchers went beyond expectations and (in some cases) lived up to the hype, leaving them looking well set for the new season. Here are those who have made the roster:
The Yankees in March – Part One
(up to and including 28th March)
The Yankees have had a good spring training, carrying a 17-12 record into the last few days before the regular season started. In fact, because of the strong performances many of the roster issues sorted themselves and there were few injury concerns to require the roster to be patched.
Here’s a survey of the players who made it through and how they performed in the springtime:
The Yankees in February
The Yankees made a pretty good start to Spring Training with two wins and two losses in the four games they played before the end of February:
25/2 Win vs Florida State University Seminoles 8-3
26/2 Loss vs Pittsburgh Pirates 5-6
27/2 Loss vs Pittsburgh Pirates 2-8
28/2 Win vs Detroit Tigers 7-4
Yankees in January
The Yankees had a busy month in January and they managed to fill most of the most obvious gaps on their roster.
What’s coming up in 2014?
Thank you to everyone who visits and supports this site. We now get more visitors per day than ever before. We get twice as many visitors per day just reading old stuff as we used to get on the old site on a day when a new article went up.
So a couple of weeks into the New Year, what seems to be likely to appear here in 2014 and what else will I be involved in?
