The Inerrancy of Scripture

A Review and Overview of “Five Views on Biblical Inerrancy” published by Zondervan in their “Counterpoints” series in 2013.

(To gain most understanding of this review, it would be helpful to consider the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy {1978} which can be found here: http://www.etsjets.org/files/JETS-PDFs/21/21-4/21-4-pp289-296_JETS.pdf )

The Children of the Light

What: The Children of the Light Trio – Danilo Perez, Brian Blade, John Patitucci,

Where: Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Frith Street, Soho, London

When: July 14, 2014

Writing reviews of jazz concerts can be a difficult ask – especially when the artists communicate little with their audience. Here I am in Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London and I’m scribbling notes – mental and written – but those pesky musicians won’t give me song titles to hang my thoughts on. What can I say? Tonight was a night of beautiful music. Here are some random thoughts I came away with but they won’t make the most coherent review.

What: Jersey Boys

When: 20th June 2014

I’ve been a big fan of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons since the 1970s. I live in London. The musical of “Jersey Boys” opened in the West End of London in 2008. Perkelt : Recalling the Czech-ered past

Sometimes you just hear something that is so unusual and innovative that you just know that there must be an audience out there for it…….

Something like that happened to me the first time that I heard Perkelt. I was wandering around Stratford-Upon-Avon trying to visualise in my head the structure of a Shakespearean production that I was eager to develop ……. when I heard some folk music.

“What Masques, What Dances Shall We Have, to wear away this long age of three hours?

What: A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Where: Stratford-Upon-Avon
When: 4th of August 2011

This is the third play that the Royal Shakespeare Company have performed from the Shakespearean canon since the launch of their new theatre – and to say that I did not approach the grim exterior of that new theatre with much enthusiasm would have been something of an understatement.

Hicksville?

Greg Hicks is at the heart and soul of the current RSC ensemble who are gathered to perform a number of Shakespeare’s classic works at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The ensemble began its work last year and will continue to work together until 2011 – although rumour has it that Hicks will leave early.
